A Thousand Words – Andrew Hass

Andrew Hass is Anne’s guest this month and he describes for us this painting by Jan Lievens that means a lot to him. You can listen to what he has to say at around 22’34 minutes into the podcast.

Andrew is originally from Canada, but studied for his PhD here in Glasgow, and now works at the University of Stirling as Reader in the Department of Religious Studies. Andrew’s courses focus on the ways in which religion manifests itself in literature, or other forms of art, so it is particularly intriguing to hear about his favourite image.
