Media Review – Hamnet

This month the smallVOICE team review the novel, Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell. Hamnet is inspired by the story of the son of Anne Hathaway (known as Agnes) and William Shakespeare. O’Farrell adds flesh to the scant historical accounts and imagines the lives of Agnes, her husband and children, and the impact on the family of Hamnet’s death aged 11.

Listen to what we make of it at about 8’50 minutes in to May’s podcast.

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell is published by Tinder Press and is widely available but, as Holly says in the podcast, please consider ordering it from your friendly local independent book shop.
