Andrew Barr spent more than thirty years making television programmes for both the BBC and ITV, moving from trainee sound recordist to Senior Editorial roles. When he retired in 2000, he was BBC Scotland’s Head of Education and Religious Broadcasting.
Andrew’s photo was taken during location filming in Canada in the 1970s. Anne has revisited her conversation with Andrew, which we first recorded in October 2014, and we present this reprise in the light of this year’s 150th anniversary of Canada. This re-edited version raises interesting perspectives into Canadian life and shows what inspired Andrew to become a television producer of documentaries. Listen at around 21’24 minutes in to our October podcast.
