A Thousand Words – Rachel Mann
Rev Canon Dr Rachel Mann is a Church of England priest, a poet, broadcaster and scholar. She’s the author of eleven books, and a regular contributor to BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4.
The image above is the one that Rachel chose to speak to Anne about for our ‘Thousand Words’ feature where a guest shares a picture that is especially meaningful to them. It’s a painting called “The Silence” by Carel Weight. You can hear what Rachel has to say about it at around 23 minutes into May’s podcast.
Find out more about Rachel and her work by visiting her website, or follow her on Twitter. Rachel’s book about the legacy of the First World War is ‘Fierce Imaginings’: The Great War, Ritual, Memory & God published by Darton, Longman and Todd.
