the “Villain’s Vicar” at Aye Write! book festival

Dave Tomlinson
Saturday 18 April at 6pm
The Mitchell Library, Glasgow G3 7DN
Tickets £9

Come and hear Dave Tomlinson at Glasgow’s book festival in a session hosted by your very own smallVOICE podcast. Tickets are on sale NOW from The Mitchell Library, through the Aye Write! website or by telephone 0141 353 8000

The blurb goes thusly:
Rev Dave Tomlinson was vilified in the tabloid press as ‘the villains’ vicar’ after taking the funerals of two Great Train Robbers, including Ronnie Biggs’ in 2014. For ten years, Dave led a church gathering in a pub; he is a rubbish birdwatcher, a Liverpool supporter and he is convinced that God shouldn’t be left in the hands of the religious.

Glasgow’s very own smallVOICE podcast brings Dave to the Aye Write book festival for an honest, maybe controversial, but always eminently reasonable session about finding God – apparently she was behind the sofa all along…

Dave Tomlinson will talk about his new book, ‘The Bad Christian’s Manifesto: reinventing God (and other modest proposals)’. The session is chaired by Darren McKinnon and there will be an opportunity for Q+A.
