Musical Guests: Shapenote Scotland

Shapenote Scotland is an informal association of people promoting shapenote singing in Scotland. They say, “There’s no membership, it’s just a convenient label for the kind of activities we’ve been doing for the last seven years or so.”

Our Shapenote singers for GRF, including Karen Turner (2nd from Left) and Harry
Campbell (5th from Right).

Glasgow is almost certainly the only place in Scotland where there are
regular shapenote singings, plus occasional workshops. (Let us know if there is more!)

There will probably be a workshop for complete beginners in June, if not
before, and the annual All-day Singing is on Saturday 9 August 2014.
