Moral Mixdown – ‘Lethal Aid’

The team has been following the news reporting concerning the current tensions between Ukraine and Russia, and we were struck by the use of a phrase: that of one country sending ‘lethal aid’ to another country.

‘Lethal Aid’, according to the Collins Dictionary online, is defined as ‘weapons, munitions, military vehicles etc sent from one state to another in times of impending or ongoing conflict’.

So, do words matter? Do we need to call a spade a spade and a weapon a weapon? Listen at around 58’47 minutes in to February’s podcast.
