More great music from the smallVOICE archive, this time featuring the very talented Chris Amer. Chris is a guitarist and composer, and does lovely things which blur the boundary between jazz and traditional folk music.
The first track we feature dates from when Chris came into our smallVOICE studios way back in December 2015 while he was still a music student at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow. He was joined by Conal McDonagh on whistle and Neil Paton on drums and played a very mellow composition – Hunter’s Lodge. Listen at around 22’37 minutes in to the podcast. Our second featured track is from a solo visit to our studios by Chris in 2017 and features an unnamed Scottish reel preceded by an old American hymn called Land of Rest. Listen at 51’46 minutes.
