Music Guest – Jack Badcock
For July’s podcast, we have another new single – this time from the talented singer, guitarist and songwriter, Jack Badcock. The single is Track 4 from The Driftwood Project, a five-track EP that Jack is releasing one track at a time throughout 2021. It’s a lovely, lovely song and you can listen to The Land Between The Rivers at 30’58 minutes into the podcast. (Oh, and acting as a wee bonus for regular smallVOICE listeners, listen out for backing vocals from friend of the podcast, Hannah Rarity!)
The single, plus EP and other albums, are available from Jack’s Bandcamp page and you can keep up with his other music releases and forthcoming gigs etc on his website and Facebook Page.
Singer and guitarist, Jack Badcock is a hugely experienced performer, predominantly as frontman and founding member of his multi-award winning, internationally renowned world-folk band ‘Dallahan’. Raised in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland and later Yorkshire, England, before moving to Scotland as a teenager, immersing himself in its traditional music.
In recent years, between time away on the road, he has focused his time at home in Glasgow on writing his own material … delivered with a musical sensitivity clearly influenced by American folk, funk and soul music as much as traditional music from Britain and Ireland.
