November Studio Music Guests: Ciarán McGlynn & Katy Meehan
Ciarán is a music graduate, with a degree from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey. Currently, Ciarán is working for Horsecross Arts promoting Perthshire as a centre for Scottish Traditional Music. Next year he will be studying for a masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland specialising in Jazz.
Katy is an artist in addition to being a singer, and graduated from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design with a degree in art and philosophy. Musically, Katy is drawing from Country and Folk which lend themselves to her pure voice very well.
Beginning in 2013, they have played together at Solas Festival and other venues around Glasgow. Though coming from diametrically opposite ends of the musical spectrum, where their tastes do intersect is in the rich vein of Folk traditions which spans from Renaissance music through early Jazz and right up to contemporary Country music.
