Scones ahoy!
We’re SO looking forward to our next smallVOICE session at the Wild Olive Tree Cafe on Thursday 29 August featuring music from the very talented Iona Fyfe.
But we thought we’d take the opportunity to remind you that the wonderful Wild Olive Tree Cafe was chosen as our ‘small voice of the month’ back in January 2018. Cafe Manager Beth Duncan spoke to Margaret for a Podcast Extra and this is an updated, edited version. Well-worth a listen to find out more about the ethos and purpose of the cafe – and the great scones!
The Wild Olive Tree is a social enterprise café, started in 2015 as a ministry of St. George’s Tron, in whose sanctuary the café sits. The aim was to open up the church building, creating a place of meeting and rest, sanctuary and provision, but with a particular heart for those who are in need. Profits made by the café are donated to two charity partners, Glasgow City Mission and Bethany Christian Trust.
