small voice of the month – Glesga Roasters

A passion for coffee led Pastor James Faddas of Bishopbriggs Community Church to the creation of a social enterprise, Glesga Roasters, which aims to support people on the journey of rehabilitation and recovery, coming out of criminality and addition. The project roasts and sells ethically-sourced coffee beans, providing real benefit to the growers, and the profits go towards enabling disadvantaged and marginalised people to take their place in society.

smallVOICE roving reporter Margaret spoke with James, who was also joined by Adam Inglis, whose enthusiasm for the project is infectious as he tells his own story. Listen to their story at around 32’35 minutes in to January’s podcast.

You can find out more about the project, and, of course, sign up for your coffee subscription, on their website
