As ever, you managed to make me laugh and to make me think. I especially appreciated this month’s musical offering and Anne’s heaven/hell reflection.

Bestest wishes for your trip to the award ceremony – at least Panda is already appropriately attired for the acceptance speech!!

Thanks for the shout out, and response:) Yes I like the second naivete concept… and I certainly believe we can grow in our grasp of that core basic sense of God’s goodness… about being able to enumerate fewer things we can be confident about with respect to our faith though, not sure I agree entirely. Reading the bible, although it’s true that you can easily take a simplistic or naive view of certain truths eg I’m not sure Jesus’ coming again will literally be a descent on a cloud- (there’s a whole rich apocalyptic language at work there, I’ve learned from reading NT Wright)… nevertheless, reading Paul for instance, you gain this exhilerating sense of exploring a vast rich forest of truth with some quite specific, concrete- but not narrow – actual things to believe, eg about resurrection.
Anyway, work calls- thanks for stimulating some reflection, and see some of you in London on Wednesday! 🙂
