Moral Mixdown – alien life?

Alien life, so early in the new year? This week, astronomers revealed that mysterious signals emanating from a distant galaxy, have been picked up by a telescope in Canada. This has only been reported once before, by a different telescope. Among the 13 fast radio bursts, known as FRBs, was a very unusual repeating signal, coming from the same source about 1.5 billion light years away.

Our team were intrigued, and frankly couldn’t face discussing either Donald Trump or Brexit – again. Lord, forgive them.

Anyway, the precise nature and origin of the blasts of radio waves is unknown, so they are genuinely mysterious. How would we feel if there is life elsewhere in the universe?

Listen to what our team made of it all at around 6 minutes in to January’s podcast.

You can read more analysis on the BBC website and in The Guardian, and this excellent article from SETI.

The media are buzzing.
Could it be that the Canadians have discovered aliens?”
